We have another odd tribute to sitcom logic as Mike tries using Farley
as a sort of living mop so as to simplify the cleaning process.
(Strip Number 7030, Original Publication Date, 14 September 1986)Panel 1:
We start things off with Mike reaching into the refrigerator for a can of soda only to have Elly ask him what he's doing from the other room.Panel 2:
Since he knows that telling the truth would get him Boring Lecture Fifteen about how he eats too much sweets, he reaches for a pitcher of milk and tells her that he's getting a glass of milk.Panel 3:
He pours himself a glass of milk.Panel 4:
Since he's as clumsy a clod as Elly and John, he knocks the glass over after turning to put the pitcher back in the fridge.Panel 5:
Instead of cleaning up after himself, he's got a better idea: calling Farley in to the kitchen.Panel 6:
He points the dog at the mess he made.Panel 7:
Farley raises a storm of needless captions as he licks the spill up.Panel 8:
He then shakes whatever got on his face off.Panel 9:
Unaware that he's made a much bigger mess than he started out with because doing it the right way would make him into some kind of housewife, idiot Mike thoughtbubbles "There. They can't say I don't know how to clean up after myself!"Summary:
This strip is brought to you by the concept of ensuing reality. This is because Mike is once again going to catch all kinds of Hell because he thinks that life is a television show.
