Snarky Candiru2

Saturday, 12 September 2015

We end the week with Annie being used as a stand-in for all the stupid neighbourhood women who presumed to try to occupy Lynn's valuable time because they assume not having kids around means that she's a prime target for their worthless, distracting presence.

(Strip Number 4673, Original Publication Date, 13 September 1986)

Panel 1: As Elly walks towards her car, she reminds herself that she's got another petition to deliver and two articles to take to the paper.

Panel 2: After that, it's her turn at Story Hour at the hospital and she promised John that she'd be at the clinic for 2 pm.

Panel 3: On her way she runs into Anne and Leah; Anne says that it must be nice for Elly to have her kids in school.

Panel 4: When she wonders what she is going to do with all of her spare time, Elly is gobsmacked because she has none.

Summary: As it was in the past, any strip that has Anne wonder why Elly never seems to have time for her is a loathe letter to any housewife who confuses what Lynn does with a silly hobby that involves doodling for pocket change and thus can be set aside so that she might bore the Great Lynn with the boring details of the life of an anonymous and useless housefrau.
