Snarky Candiru2

Wednesday, 9 September 2015

Nilda's trying to tell Elly what she meant by recognition as a woman leads Elly to act like a bit of a jerk to the poor slob server.

(Strip Number 4672, Original Publication Date, 10 September 1986)

Panel 1: Now that we're at the restaurant, Nilda holds court about how the publication of Elly's poetry is an important and timely statement.

Panel 2: It, you see, is an achievement for women and proves what a woman has to say can be vital.

Panel 3: She then sets up the punchline by telling Elly that now, more than ever they are proving they are equal to men.

Panel 4: She is shocked, however, when Elly irritates the waiter by asking him "Hey, honey! How's about another beer?" as if she were a man being condescending to a waitress.

Summary: The problem is that Elly still has to go home to two imbeciles who whine about her embarrassing them by having a voice. Worse, she takes the younger one's opinion far too seriously. I mean, REALLY!! Not wearing a perfectly good pair of shorts because some fricking dumbass KID who doesn't wanna get teased smiles and makes that stupid palms-out gesture? If he'd've tried that with MY mom, Mike would be missing his head.
