Snarky Candiru2

Tuesday, 4 August 2015

As she and Georgia wait things out, a passer-by reassures Elly that the people he actually thinks have died of being stupid are okay.

(Strip Number 1069, Original Publication Date, 5 August 1986)

Panel 1: We find Elly and Georgia at the dining room of the hotel. Georgia said that it was good of Carol to take the kids and Elly says that she'd rather stay up there where the action is.

Panel 2: An older fellow comes up and asks if they're the ladies whose menfolk went missing; if so, they should know that they stayed in the same place.

Panel 3: He assures them that they looked like smart fellows and are probably holed up somewheres comfortable.

Panel 4: He then responds to an accusing look from the waitress by telling her he had to tell them something to keep their spirits up.

Summary: Since there were no locals to tell comforting lies to Lynn, I wonder what the inspiration is for this one.
