Snarky Candiru2

Independence Day 2015

Christopher's easy acceptance of Leah's condition confuses Annie because she remembers that she lives in a real world where people point and stare.

(Strip Number 4645, Original Publication Date, 5 July 1986)

Panel 1: As Elly absents herself, Christopher asks if he can hold the baby.

Panel 2: Annie tries to kick off the "We live in a world of killer bees and broken glass" speech but is cut off.

Panel 3: Chris tells her he knows 'cause Dad explained she's gots six fingers on each hand.

Panel 4: When Chris says that it's all ever neat 'because he thought she was just going to be ordinary, Annie is gobsmacked.

Summary: The description tells us "Anne hadn't thought of six fingers per hand being extraordinary." This is because what she's thinking about is not the people who accept things like this, she's thinking about those who recoil or stare when they see a twelve-fingered child.
