Snarky Candiru2

Friday, 22 August 2014

In today's strip, Connie's discussion about how for the first time in her pre-retcon life, she's setting the agenda leads to her commenting about how scary it actually is.

(Strip Number 924, Original Publication Date, 23 August 1985)

Panel 1: We find Connie looking up from a road-map and telling Elly that she and Lawrence are going to stay at her parents' house before driving up to Thunder Bay.

Panel 2: As she folds the map, she reminds Elly that she's never driven (or gone) that far in her life.

Panel 3: She then says "Can you believe I'm doing this all myself? All my life, I've let others make decisions for met and I'm finally taking charge of my own life! Elly....I'm growing up!!"

Panel 4: When Elly asks her if she's scared, Connie admits to being terrified.

Summary: While it is scary to not have someone to lean on and-or blame when you fail, what's really scary is that Lynn has no intention of admitting that she changed Connie's back story for a very stupid and short-sighted reason.
