Snarky Candiru2

Wednesday, 20 August 2014

Today's strip has Lawrence make an age-inappropriate statement about whoever it is that's going to end up in his old bedroom now that the house has been sold.

(Strip Number 922, Original Publication Date, 20 August 1985)

Panel 1: We find ourselves at Connie's house watching Elly congratulate her because she just told her that she found a buyer for it.

Panel 2: Mike tells Lawrence that now that it's been sold, it's going to be hard to imagine someone else living in what used to be his house.

Panel 3: As they walk into the bedroom, Lawrence wonders who's going end up using it

Panel 4: He then says that he'd had a lot of good dreams in there.

Summary: Originally, I'd made some sort of mush-headed comment about dreams; fortunately, wiser people reminded me that no ten year old boy is going to give a photon in a solar wind about this. What's going on is that he's being used as a ventriloquist's dummy so that a maudlin woman in her late thirties can make a treacly pseudo-profundity.
