Snarky Candiru2

Friday, 20 June 2014

When told that he and Lizzie need to go to bed early so as to ease John's (self-induced) pain, Mike bothers by the book and tells Lizzie that they weren't told to go to sleep early.

(Strip Number 875, Original Publication Date, 21 June 1985)

Panel 1: Elly tells the kids that Daddy is in a bad mood so they should go to bed. While Mike smiles, Lizzie moans in dismay.

Panel 2: When Mike tells Lizzie "Let's go upstairs," she says that she doesn't wanna go to bed.

Panel 3: After Elly leaves the room, Mike tells Lizzie that the problem with her is that she doesn't listen. He then says that Mom simply said that the two of them had to go to bed.

Panel 4: Lizzie's mood brightens when Mike reminds her that Elly never said anything about sleeping.

Summary: In case this sounds like a lead-in to the Little Lynnie Show, it's not. It's actually a lead-in to Lynn's need to make the small ones go away so that she can concentrate on communing with the Gods of Imagination in a bullshit creative trance.
