Snarky Candiru2

Tuesday, 17 June 2014

In today's strip, Annie irritates John by being more focused on dirty dishes than the inconvenience he suffered.

(Strip Number 872, Original Publication Date, 18 June 1985)

Panel 1: After driving up to her house and getting out of her car, Annie is greeted by pretty much most of the neighborhood. Elly walks Richard over and he says "Mama! MAMA!"

Panel 2: After having the situation explained to her, a freaked-out Anne says "WHAT? John broke into my house?! The POLICE are here?! OH, NO!!"

Panel 3: Her eyes widen more as she again says "OH, NO!!!"

Panel 4: This is because all those people were in her house and she hadn't done dishes or anything. John's response to her real priorities is to face-palm like Picard.

Summary: Today's Lynnsight gives us the real reason for this arc. That's because it has Lynn talking about an acquaintance who'd been robbed and was more worried about the police seeing a dirty house than her stolen possessions.

The Archiving Project: Part Two.

The latest news note is written BY Stephanie and explains the methods used to make sure a collection is preserved correctly.

You will notice right off that Stephanie is a much better and more organized writer (in my mind the two are synonymous) than Lynn is. You will also notice a distinct lack of archness and slang. The second thing you'll notice is the underlying context (as indicated by the spot art of Lynn phoning Steph late at night) of a busy woman frustrated by the fact that Lynn broke Rules 2 through 5.
