Snarky Candiru2

Friday, 6 June 2014

An angry Mike wonders why he gets stuck watching over a baby that has yet to be toilet trained.

(Strip Number 4508, Original Publication Date, 7 June 1985)

Panel 1: Elly has Richard in tow as she tells Mike that Lizzie and Chris are playing nicely downstairs.

Panel 2: She then asks him to watch over Richard and make sure he keeps out of trouble.

Panel 3: Mike complains that he was doing something and that Richard, as evidenced by his gnawing on the comic book Mike was reading, is a real nuisance.

Panel 4: He then testily thought-bubbles that Richard ain't even house-broken.

Summary: This becomes a problem for the Pattersons when his shy bladder syndrome, Annie's forgetfulness and Mrs Baird's civic-mindedness combine in such a way as to put John in a squad car.

Uncovering 30+ Years of Art

It would appear that we're in for a bit more to snark in the weeks to come. This is because Lynn wants to tale about the spot art and other incidentals she's done over the years

Notes:
- She would pick THAT piece of spot art, wouldn't she? She thinks it's funny but all it proves is that Elly being stupid and the kids tormenting Farley for fun never gets old.

- My goodness. We're in for a summer of Lynn getting facts all twisted up, ain't we?

After a night spent hoping that each mosquito I obliterated in my room was the last (took out three and still heard a buzzing) I found myself thinking of strip 6938; for a change, I'm on Elly's side. Mosquitoes are incredibly annoying and it's not the fear of a bite that makes me lose sleep -- heck, I'd trade one bite for a night of silence.

Theory: The reason John thinks the only problem with mosquitoes is their bite is that years of working with a drill have left him deaf to higher-pitched sounds like the drone of insects, leaving him wondering how Elly can even tell there's a mosquito flying around.
