Snarky Candiru2

Tuesday, 21 January 2014

In today's strip, Elly is angered because Farley once again refuses to be sufficiently contrite; one might actually believe that he cannot understand the English language or something.

(Strip Number 4466, Original Publication Date, 22 January 1985)

Panel 1: A vaguely disgusted Elly tells Farley to come back inside.

Panel 2: She tries to get him to feel ashamed of the fact that his poorly groomed feet are always full of debris, his poorly maintained coat is always shedding and since they never bothered really training him, he's always getting into trouble.

Panel 3: As she tells him that they probably shouldn't have got him in the first place, the unusually tolerant dog licks the face attached to the boot that kicks him.

Panel 4: She then tells him not to kiss her while she's lecturing him.

Summary: If there are notes for today's effort, they'll be all about how stupid and destructive dogs are and how they manage to get away with things and not about how dogs do not understand English no matter how sincere Elly and Lynn are.

Lynn on Jane Hawtin Live.

Well, there's a new podcast up. Today's segment is a segment from a television show called "Jane Hawtin Live" in which Lynn talks about her reasons for creating April.

Points to be covered:

1) Cathy Guisewite is not mentioned by name but her explanation of the basic impulse is consistent.
2) Fiona Brass is used to depict the mean hater who said something not actually mean.
3) Lynn thinks we should all be caged up because we're picky-faces who hate her.
