Indignant Candiru

Friday, 8 November 2013

It looks to me as if Jean might have to go on maternity leave sooner than she'd planned.

(Strip Number 743, Original Publication Date, 9 November 1984)

Panel 1: The next morning, Jean rebuffs silly-billy John's concern about her pregnancy affecting her work.

Panel 2: She just has to use the lead shield and apron for x-rays (like she should have been doing in the first place) and she'll be fine.

Panel 3: After putting on the heavy lead apron, Jean staggers under its weight and asks John to give her a push in the right direction.

Summary: I don't mean to set off a war here but I kinda think that she should have been wearing the protective clothing all along. All that ionizing radiation can't have been good for her (or her daughter's) health.
