Snarky Candiru2

Sunday, 18 August 2013

In today's strip, we find out that Farley has the irritating (and in real life, LETHAL) quirk of eating the chives in Elly's garden. Given how little Lynn cares for being told that recklessness like this ain't funny, we can expect any notes that might appear to be a symphony in the key of "Get a life, it's just a comic strip."

(Strip Number 7024, Original Publication Date, 19 August 1984)

Panel 1: We start things off with Farley giving a disgusted-looking Lawrence a friendly lick.

Panel 2: Farley is saddened when Lawrence yells "UGH!!! Get away from me!!" and shoves him away.

Panel 3: Because it's hot and dogs don't have sweat glands, Farley beats the heat by panting in Lizzie's face.

Panel 4: She too gets disgusted and shoos him away.

Panel 5: Mike angrily tells Farley to get lost.

Panel 6: John tells Farley that his breath could peel paint.

Panel 7: Finally, Elly makes the scene. As she stands there, trowel in hand, she tells them all that she wants an answer to a question that's been bothering her.

Panel 8: Said question is "Who keeps eating the chives out of my garden?!!"

Summary: In real life, she'd know who it was when the vet told Elly that Farley died from eating chives. Since Lynn doesn't know this and doesn't want to, the stupid, negligent and evil pet-ownership is laughed off yet again.
