Snarky Candiru2

We end the "Lizzie gets lost" arc with the child echoing a punchline from a Sunday strip.

(Strip Number 681, Original Publication Date, 16 August 1984)

Panel 1: Now that the security officer and the good Samaritan have reunited Lizzie with Elly, Elly thanks them and tells them how embarrassed she is.

Panel 2: She then asks Lizzie how she could do something horrible like deliberately running away from her at a busy airport and showing her hatred for her pooooooooooooooooooooooor, put-upon mother by making her look like an incompetent idiot who doesn't exercise the absolute control society expects of her.

Panel 3: Since Lizzie hasn't been trained to see every single God-damned thing as being the END OF THE WORLD yet, she tells her that she didn't run away.

Panel 4: She continues to defy authority and herald in an era of CHAOS by stating that she followed the wrong set of legs. (She actually did no such thing but since Lynn has a poor memory and short attention span, I'll let this gaffe pass.)

Summary: If Officer Able and Mrs Baker didn't think that Elly was an incompetent idiot before, bearing witness to a child's perspective of events totally confuse and horrify her are certainly making them think that Elly hasn't Clue Freaking One as to what she's doing.
