Snarky Candiru2

Thursday, 4 July 2013

In today's strip, Phil makes an asinine comment about how he needs to smoke in order to kill the taste of Elly's horrible cooking. Judging from the fact that she's about to bean with a frying pan, I think that the taste ain't the only thing that's gonna get killed today.

(Strip Number 647, Original Publication Date, 5 July 1984)

Panel 1: Now that dinner's over, Elly apologizes for not offering much for dinner. Phil says it's fine.

Panel 2: He then dates himself horrifically by asking to light a cigarette at a dinner table with children present.

Panel 3: Michael asks why Phil always smokes after he's eaten dinner with them.

Panel 4: Since he forgot how humorless Elly is, he doesn't realize that saying "To kill the taste" is about to make her give his noggin a floggin'.

Summary: I think that if we do have a Lynnsight, it'll be about how Lynn wishes that she could have dissuaded Alan from smoking in front of Aaron.

Warning: Atrocity in progress!!!

This just in from the Facebook page:

An update from Lynn: I'm doing the cover for the 2014 calendar which will focus on teens- it'll be called "Totally Teens" We are just doing the layout now and I'll be working on new spot art.

Expect very crappy art about the horrors of having to deal with children who are questioning their place in the world, wondering what sex is and thinking that just maybe, John and Elly don't actually need to own their horses because Mom and Dad aren't actually the greatest victims ever.
