Snarky Candiru2

Friday, 8 March 2013

In this, the first part of the "Elly versus baby talk" arc. Elly is so amused by Lizzie's mispronunciation of goose bumps that she forgets that the child doesn't much like being covered in them.

(Strip Number 567, Original Publication Date, 9 March 1984)

Panel 1: We start things off with Elizabeth telling Mommy that she getting out of the baff now.

Panel 2: As Elly towels her off, Elizabeth points to her arm and tells her to look at her "goof bumps."

Panel 3: Elly thinks this is wonderful and laughs at the mispronunciation.

Panel 4: Elizabeth doesn't think it's wonderful since she's covered in them.

Summary: Paul Jones of Saint John, New Brunswick doesn't think it's wonderful either. That's because unlike Elly, Lynn and Kool-Aid Nation, I don't think that it's smart or correct to laugh at the way a child speaks when it's Elly's damned fault that she does.
