Snarky Candiru2

Thursday, 28 February 2013

Today, we switch focus from Elly's awkward time at the gym to John being an inept caregiver who's too stupid to realize that he has to be more specific about what gets washed when dealing with a three-year old. Ain't stealing from sitcoms grand?

(Strip Number 561, Original Publication Date, 1 March 1984)

Panel 1: We start things off with a pissed-off looking John tapping on the bathroom door and asking Lizzie if she's washing or simply playing in the tub. (Hint: the latter is a no-no.)

Panel 2: Lizzie tells him that she's washing.

Panel 3: As she dunks the scale in the tub, she thought-bubbles that he never asked her what she was washing.

Summary: Great. Super. A sitcom kid 'fooling' a sitcom idiot dad. Ah, well. At least it isn't him being pissed off because he doesn't get the blind, fearful obedience his fragile ego and immature nature make him crave; that comes tomorrow. What bothers me is that the notes aren't going to come within a kiloparsec of the elephant in the bathroom: John using propriety as an excuse to stupidly endanger his child. We're just going to get another Little Lynnie show or something.
