Today's strip has Elly about to go out to a meeting at the library; since Lynn thinks that a three year old is a tiny adult, she has Lizzie knowingly guilt-trip Elly about doing so.

(Strip Number 538, Original Publication Date, 18 January 1984)

Panel 1: We start things off with Elly dressed to go out for the evening. Lizzie asks her if she's gotta go out again.

Panel 2: Elly explains that she's going to another library meeting; it's important that she do so.

Panel 3: Lizzie askses if it more'portant than her; this causes Elly to freeze in horror.

Panel 4: As a guilt-stricken Elly hugs her poor innocent child, the tiny adult Lynn thinks Lizzie is thought-bubbles that every so often, she comes up with a good one.

Summary: In the real world, Lizzie would not have intentionally messed with her mother's head; the only reason she's depicted as doing so here has to do with why they want sugar cereal. In Lynn's world, children are evil strangers who live to bust Mommy's ass. In the real world, Lizzie would not know why her question made Mommy sad.
