Snarky Candiru2

Monday, 26 November 2012

We begin the super-important "Elly and John gossip about someone who isn't who she thinks he is" arc with Elly implying that her incredibly average and almost horrifyingly docile offsprings are so naughty that she must abase herself to some teenager studying for midterms so that she might have a social life.

(Strip Number 510, Original Publication Date, 28 November 1983)

Panel 1: We start things off with Elly suggesting to John (who's changing out of his work clothes) that it'd be a good thing if they got a sitter for the night and went out for dinner.

Panel 2: He asks her where she intends getting a baby-sitter on such short notice.

Panel 3: She says that she'll do what she always does when she needs someone to look after the kids.

Panel 4: It so happens that what she does is grovel.

Summary: This, of course, will be accompanied by a stream of consciousness rant about baby-sitters, nannies and all the other people who helped Lynn by making sure that she only had to deal with her children when it was fun.
