Snarky Candiru2

Wednesday, 8 August 2012

In today's strip, Lizzie tries to smuggle one of the little kitties from the barn home. Given how stupid and negligent Elly is, her refusal to allow it is the closest thing she's ever come to being a responsible pet owner.

(Strip Number 447, Original Publication Date, 10 August 1983)

Panel 1: As they get ready to for their drive to the airport, Elly asks Mike two things: if his suitcase is in the car and where Lizzie is.

Panel 2: Mike tells her that she's saying goodbye to the kittens in the barn.

Panel 3: As Lizzie walks to the car, Elly says that she's surprised that she isn't nagging them to take one home with them.

Panel 4: Lizzie has a furtive look on her face and a bulge in her shirt that meows.

Summary: As I recall, the Lynnsight is all about barn cats about how untameable they are. I also remember that Elly fears and hates cats because they, as she puts it, prowl around her house sucking the breath from babies and other such nonsense. (They also don't tolerate abuse nearly as well as dogs so that's another reason they're evil.)
