Snarky Candiru2

In today's strip, we find ourselves being reminded that Lynn thinks that adults cannot permit themselves to understand how children think. Where you and I would say to ourselves "Of course Lizzie would look for Old MacDonald on a farm!! She's THREE!!!", Lynn thinks that to be an adult, we MUST think "Why should she expect Old MacDonald to be on a farm? I don't!!"

(Strip Number 4344, Original Publication Date, 13 July 1983)

Panel 1: We find ourselves at the Cruikshank farm; as Danny gets out of the Magic Hovertruck, he tells us that Laura and Grandma Alice are on the porch.

Panel 2: As Laura looks on, Grandma Alice greets Elizabeth and asks her what she thinks of all of this farm country.

Panel 3: Grandma Alice goes all blank-eyed in confusion because Mike says that Lizzie keeps asking where Old MacDonald is.

Summary: Like I said, Lynn doesn't think that adults are supposed to understand children lest the kids 'win'; this is why we see all these blank and mildly angry stares when a child says something age-appropriate.
