Snarky Candiru2

Thursday, 3 May 2012

We come to the home stretch of the alleged go-kart arc with a reminder that John is a bit of a man-child.

(Strip Number 398, Original Publication Date, 5 May 1983)

Panel 1: We find ourselves looking at Gordon asking "Can't we have a turn in the go-kart?" to an unseen jackass acting like a selfish nit while Lawrence talks about the unfairness.

Panel 2: Gordon reminds the turd acting like a dog in the manger that he's promised to let them do so because they helped him push it up the hill.

Panel 3: Since Lynn thinks she's being clever, we're expected to be astonished that it's John sighing and asking who's first. Since we know better, we're not.

Summary: That's because we do something she finds really inconvenient called 'remembering the past'; by doing this thing she'd rather we didn't, we remember that John is the sort of stupid-ass manchild that would do something mean-spirited and selfish like his. We can also ask ourselves if the thing is designed to be sat on by a lard-assed lardhead like him without severe structural damage.
