In today's strip, Mike reminds us that it sucks to be the child of a pontificating dimwit of a mother who should try practicing what she preaches, Elly!!

(Strip Number 4323, Original Publication Date, 28 April 1983)

Panel 1: We start things off with Elly telling Mike that he tidied his room but put everything in his closet.

Panel 2: He tells her that at least he did what he was told to do.

Panel 3: Elly does what Elly does best: walk away from him with a smug look on her stupid face as she tells him "If you're going to do a job, do it well! It's time you turned over a new leaf!"

Panel 4: As he puts his stuff away in yet another manner that won't please eyes that are built to see chaos unless a task is done their owner's way, he thought-bubbles about how whenever he does turn over a new leaf, there's a bug under it.

Summary: Saturday's Lynnsight blames the foul language on television for a perceived loss of respect Lynn thinks that she, as a parent, is owed. I don't know about that. It seems to me that Mike's knowing that he's expected to do things that Elly cannot or will not might be doing that. I mean, when was the last time Elly's pointless busywork actually accomplished anything?
