Snarky Candiru2

Friday, 6 January 2012

In today's strip, Elly realizes that throwing a temper tantrum isn't really a good idea in a sub-Arctic climate in January. The clear implication of today's strip is that the only reason Elly is willing to listen to reason is so that she can avoid freezing to death.

(Strip Number 4272, Original Publication Date, 7 January 1983)

Panel 1: We find ourselves watching John ask Elly's back where she's going; she yells "OUT!!!" off camera.

Panel 2: Elly stands there on the porch yelling that she's not going to come back in until she's cooled off.

Panel 3: A little while later, a knock on the door disturbs John as he reads his paper.

Panel 4: John opens the door to find a freezing and remorseful Elly tell him that she's cooled off.

Summary: I can't wait to see the Lynnsight for this; that's because I have got to know what kind of messed-up reasoning allows Lynn to think that this is a successful resolution to a conflict.
