Snarky Candiru2

Saturday, 15 October 2011

We end the week with Lawrence's wondering if aliens walk among us turning into his wondering if Lizzie is an alien because she makes fun of the fact that no one has seen fit to call him Larry.

(Strip Number 4244, Original Publication Date, 16 October 2011)

Panel 1: A few seconds after Mike told him that he'd tell people he was ET, a goggle-eyed with horror Lawrence asks Mike "What if there are extraterrestrials living here with us, Mike?"

Panel 2: He goes on to freak out at the possibility of coexisting with weird little creatures that look something like us but aren't human.

Panel 3: At that point, Lizzie comes out of seemingly nowhere and smilingly yells "Hello, Lawrence-Porrence!!!!"

Panel 4: As she laughs at her little joke, Lawrence asks Mike if he's taken a good look at his little sister lately.

Summary: A stupid person would probably take this as the first hint that Lawrence is gay; a sensible person would remember that he had no real idea what he was at this point at his life and write this off as what any seven year old would say about those odd creatures known as 'little girls'. At that stage of development, the need to obsess and react negatively over what people don't have in common takes the form of the belief in fictional fauna called cooties; since Lynn is as dumb as a rock, we're doubtless going to get a Lynnsight that makes Alan into a hostile thing from another planet for wanting to not be hounded to death by a defiant lunatic of an older sister.
