Snarky Candiru2

Monday, 25 July 2011

In today's strip, Lynn goes out of her way to not see that eight year old children tend to see time passing more slowly than adults do.

(Strip Number 291, Original Publication Date, 26 July 1982)

Panel 1: As our story continues, we find the Pattersons getting the tickets for the roomettes Elly inadvertently bought; the VIA Rail employee tells them that their train will be at Gate 4 at 8:45.

Panel 2: As they head to Gate 4, an enthusiastic Mike asks "Where's the trains? Where do we sit? Can I see the engine?"

Panel 3: Elly tells him to settle down; that's because they've got only twenty minutes to wait.

Panel 4: A horrified Mike says "Twenty minutes?? That's forever!!"

Summary: We can hope that the notes will be another episode of the Little Lynnie show; watching her make a sweeping, ill-informed generalization that confuses her own limited perceptions with universal truths would be bad enough without Aaron getting slammed for having more energy than she wanted him to.
