Snarky Candiru2

Thursday, 21 July 2011

Today's strip is yet another reminder that Elly isn't all that fond of the way her children behave; granted, it's not all fun and games being a parent but it seems to me that Lynn makes it look way harder than it really is.

(Strip Number 4202, Original Publication Date, 22 July 1982)

Panel 1: We start off with Mike and Lizzie using the couch as an impromptu trampoline as a means of expressing how excited they are about going to Vancouver by train.

Panel 2: He then asks Elly why she'd waited until the day before they left to tell him and Lizzie.

Panel 3: Elly says that she and John still wanted to have some springs left on the couch.

Summary: This is the sort of material that inspires my flights of hyperbole about how Lynn seems to want to abolish childhood; it's not easy to cope with over-stimulated children by any stretch of the imagination but our girl seems to enjoy depicting Elly being overwhelmed, confused and defeated by her offsprings.

Lynn Speaks at the Schulz Museum.....

The latest news item is sure to get a bit of a response; that's because Lynn makes more silly, self-serving comments about her 'special' friendship with Charles Schulz.

Notes:

- Katie and Lane are expecting a child for Lynn to both ignore and use as a means of giving her daughter unsolicited and worthless advice.

- She really can't let go of the fact that her husbands don't find her as appealing as she expected them to; were Doug to have seen this, he'd probably have grounds to sue for defamation of character.
