Snarky Candiru2

Thursday, 10 February 2011

Given that the Lynnsight for yesterday's strip was all about how pissed Lynn's mom was that the vacuum cleaner hose got blocked up, I expect that today's strip will be about Elly getting angry because Mike acted like a seven-year old yesterday.

And I'm almost glad to be wrong; what we have is Elly boasting to John that she's managed to trick Mike.

Panel 1: We start things off in the laundry room; as Elly does her daily three loads of clothes, John asks where Mike is and she tells him that she told him to vacuum the hall stairs.

Panel 2: John watches as Mike rolls marbles down the hose while Lizzie collects them at the bottom.

Panel 3: He then tells Elly what's happening; her reaction is to smile and say "Good!!"

Panel 4: He wonders why that's good because he's not getting anything done.

Panel 5: As she picks up the laundry basket, she tells John "I am!!"

Summary: Well, this is interesting; Elly actually understood how a child's mind works and used that knowledge to her own advantage. What are the odds?

Jean Baker: Let's take another look at this bio

This should go directly to her bio. If not, at least to the Who's Who page. http://www.fborfw.com/features/who/ As we said at the time, OF COURSE Jean never tells anyone she's from a circus family, so Beth didn't have to reconcile anything. I don't get the "inevitable razzing" she fears, though. Unless Beth thinks "razzing" means something other than "making fun." Like "be interested and want to know more about it." Which is how I'd react. I would also think that it's not the lack of stability that would make me tire of the road: it would be the physical tiredness, and the dirtiness and danger and getting random germs. But not the lure of R.P. Boire HS.

Anyway. White picket fence is the only way to live, first love is true love, and stand by yo' man. I'm surprised Beth didn't fix Lynn's earlier error: Jean and spouse have only ONE kid.
