Snarky Candiru2

Tuesday, 27 July 2010

In today's strip, we remind ourselves why the Pattersons were fools to take Farley with them when he encounters a skunk.

(Strip Number 156, Original Publication Date, 28 July 1981)

Panel 1: As Elly closes the hatchback's trunk on their luggage, she tells us "Okay, the car's packed. Everybody....let's go!!"

Panel 2: There's just one little detail to be taken care of: getting Farley into the car; John takes care of that by saying "Here, Farley!! Come on, boy!!"

Panel 3: Their silhouettes react in horror as Farley gets sprayed by a skunk; the shock of it causes him to bark.

Summary: I wonder how many letters we'll get this week defending the Pattersons' stupidly bringing him along instead of letting Ted look after him. Had they acted like normal people and not brought him along, they wouldn't be spending Wednesday shaving him bald in a doomed attempt to remove the smell or glaring at Mike and threatening him with an ass-whupping if he dropped the didn't stop talking while they're being inept and angry.
