Snarky Candiru2

Monday, 8 March 2010

If we go in straight sequence, we'll simply see the new-ruin that has Elly tell Connie about Phil's take on her visit; there's a fifty-fifty shot of an inserted new-ruin that explains 'that girl', however.

And it's the straight reprint.

Panel 1: Elly asks Connie why she's always prepared for the worst. (Hypocritical, much?)

Panel 2: She then tells her that Phil thought her visit was great. In fact, he thought she should have stayed longer. Why she looks as if she's yawning is best left to the philosophers.

Panel 3: Connie then delightedly yells 'REALLY???"

Panel 4: Her delight turns to panic when she tells Elly that if she's lying, not to let her know. Elly frowns the bug-eyed frown of existential terror in response.

Summary: First off, Elly is clearly lying. Phil had no idea that Connie came to visit him; as far as he knew, she was simply on vacation and they happened to meet. Also, he was trying his damnedest to talk himself into a nightcap and she just stood there frowning her bug-eyed frown thereby leaving him thinking that he got the nice brush-off. Third, and this is the clincher, why is no one taking the needs of a small boy who needs his mother into consideration. I've been sitting here for hours trying to figure out why they so blithely ignored Lawrence's needs.
