Indignant Candiru

Now that we're in Halloween reprint country, we can probably expect to see Mike boast that he is sharing his Halloween candy with Lizzie by giving her all the wrappers (or something similar).

It's the next strip in sequence after the pumpkin-goo fiasco.

Panel 1: We start off with Mike, who's wearing a bath-towel cape and paper bag space helmet, pointing a Whammo Air-Blaster at Lawrence who, with his similar accesories, playing the bad guy in this round of pretending to be Space Guy; Mike tells LawrenceTwirg to give up because the square foot of back yard he's standing onhis planet is surrounded by his space patrol.

Panel 2: Elly, who's watching all this from the back window, tells John that she sometimes thinks that since she's a busy mother that has no help and no time to herself she's forgotten how to fantasize and asks him if the same thing has happened to him.

Panel 3: She asks again because he was too busy flipping through Macho magazine (think a late seventies version of Maxim) to listen to the little woman with the country-wide ass.

Summary: We are meant to believe that Rod spend his free time reading soft-core porn and fantasizing about a life without Lynn's groovy self; determining what actually went on in their marriage is a mystery we can't solve but it doesn't help matters to see him depicted in a consistently negative light.
