Snarky Candiru2

Monday, 4 May 2009

Having established that Elly has lost control of her household, it should be obvious that we're about to see her campaign to escape the domestic sphere and fail elsewhere; we can also look forward to John barring the door because he doesn't know what he married.

Perhaps later; thanks to spotts1701, we now know Lizzie is learning to talk again. This makes either the third or fourth time this has happened in the last eight months.

Panel 1: We start off with new-ruin Lizzie playing with her toys contentedly burbling "Mum-mum-mum-mum-da-da-da-dadda-goggie-goggie-googie-baby-baby."

Panel 2: This makes Elly gush "Elizabeth! You're doing so well...just listen to you."

Panel 3: Having picked Lizzie up off the floor, Elly marvels that Lizzie's practicing all the words she understands and is learning new ways to communicate.

Panel 4: Lizzie also learns a new word: No. Lynn would have us believe that that means "No, Liz isn't learning." Too bad for Lynn that any major dude will tell you that Lizzie is actually saying No to being picked up off the floor; once again, her inability to understand how children think made a fool out of her.

Summary: Tomorrow's strip features more inept parenting and more misunderstood children who are whatever-age-Liz-will-be.
What's This?

Paper Change Nets Early FOOBery

Well, my local paper changed from a daily to a Wednesday-Sunday.  But to keep readers somewhat happy, they've put some Monday and Tuesday comics into their "Early Week Extra" that comes with the Sunday edition.  And guess what?  FOOB is one of the ones that gets only three slots for comics, along with Pickles and Doonesbury (my dad was pissed because Alley Oop didn't).

So now I get a "sneak peek" at the first two strips of the week.  I'm not sure I want to post up "spoilers" (to use the term very loosely), but I will if it will be of some value to the comm.
