Snarky Candiru2

Saturday, 7 February 2009

It looks to me that we'll probably end the week with John handing Lizzie over to Elly because he'd rather not change her diaper. This, sadly, is probably going to be the highlight of the week.

Sadly, we were just given a temporary reprieve. We end the week with Connie writing a personal ad.

Panel 1: We start off with her ticka-tacka-tapping "Lonely divorcee, Age 35, One Child, Seeks Companionship" on a keyboarded writing instrument. Is it a manual typewriter? An IBM Selectric? A computer? We are not shown so that Lynn may pretend that this strip is timeless.

Panel 2: It seems that she found her original pitch unsuitable as she changes it to "Sincere single woman with child seeks relationship with...."

Panel 3: Her frustration at not being able to put her needs into words makes her yell that the whole exercise is futile as she'll only attract a loser or deviant this way.

Panel 4: She then reminds us that she's a man-hungry nitwit with no self-regard by stating that a horrible relationship is better than nothing.

Summary: Given that she's doing this, I think that the trip to Montreal might have been averted. Too bad that her pursuit of the smug, chauvinistic jackhole Momma's boy Ted has not.
