Snarky Candiru2

Monday, 10 November 2008

Now that we're in Farley country, I half-way expect to see the first phase of the adjustment period: convincing Mike that a puppy isn't a stuffed animal that he can pick up and squeeze at will. In the old days, this took about five or six strips. Given Lynn's modern-day tendency to repeat herself, however, I expect we'll be dealing with that until December.

Ah, well. We may get there. First, however, we gotta watch Elly drop the "Do as I say and not as I do" bomb on Mike.

Panel 1: We start off with Mike laughing as Farley licks his face. Conflict is right around the corner as we see a disapproving Elly peering around one.

Panel 2: She expresses her concern by telling Mike that he shouldn't let the puppy lick his face because it's not healthy.

Panel 3: We next see him and Lizzie eating ice cream cones. Like the oh-so-average kid he is, he gets a tad messy.

Panel 4: Elly's response is to moisten a paper towel with her sputum....

Panel 5: ....and wipe a justifiably angry Mike's face with it.

Summary: Not only is Elly a hypocrite, she's disgusting. I hate it when people do that.
