Snarky Candiru2

Tuesday, 22 July 2008

It's day two of "Jim goes to Sunset Manor". Will an over-burdened Iris do what Lynn thinks she's supposed to and resist a helping hand with whatever strength she has left? Will Elly only offer it because she finally clued in that an eighty-two year old woman who was never obliged to do so in the first place can't do it on her own? Will Kool-Aid Nation applaud this atrocity as being true to life? We shall see.

Panel 1: We see him and Iris in the courtyard of their building. One of the orderlies says that it's good to see him outside. Iris says that he's looking well, a statement which Orderly Number Two echoes.

Panel 2: She then says that his health is fairly stable. Orderly #2 says that's a good thing to know.

Panel 3: She then talks about how they've had visitors who aren't April lately, gone on drives and taken in a movie as well as Elly finally coming to stay with him. Feel free to use a synonym for "Finally" about that last statement.

Panel 4: Jim thought-bubbles his frustration about not being able to express his opinion. If he could complain, he'd have pretty much nothing to complain about.

Summary: Since Elly is dumber and less patient than Iris, she'll return from her long-needed vacation to find that Jim had been packed off to Sunset Manor without her permission or approval. That move will also be without real medical necessity.
