Fear of a hybrid planet

howtheduck is right to say that Lynn chose all the reprint strips on purpose because she's angry at Rod and probable supporter Aaron. This and Lynn's promise to insert material that 'explains' what we're seeing after the reload starts just put a nasty idea in my head. Remember all the cute strips where John and Michael are behaving like decent people? Well, it just occurred to me that the 'explanatory' strips will 'tell' us they're being insincere in order to trick Elly.

It's Independence Day in the States today and I hope it's a good one for our American friends. Too bad Lynn is giving you yet another example of dubious parenting.

Panel 1: We start off with Elly, who's cleaning up Mike's bedroom, thought-bubbling that if women resent their lives, they only have themselves to blame. Hypocritical much, Mrs. I-quit-motherhood?

Panel 2: She goes on to remind herself that if men were taught to do things for themselves early enough, this problem wouldn't exist.

Panel 3: Mike shows up and asks her if she can get him a glass of milk.

Panel 4: She says she'll get right on that after she's done cleaning his room. Not that she's enabling him or making him dependent on her or anything. No sir or ma'am. She's just making sure things are done right.

Summary: She has no self-awareness at all. If she did, she'd realize that she's full of crap.

ETA: She updated the banner for her American fans. It still has Farley biting a chew toy but the caption has changed a little. It's Lynn's way of wishing you a Happy Co-dependence Day!

I hope it's okay for me to post this.

I just found this community and I have to say, the posts here are spot on and crack me up. I've been reading the strip since I was a little kid and it's gotten so deliciously bad lately. Elly in particular I find infuriating.

I just had a question: does anyone remember the dates of the strips from when Paul visited the Patterson's? My mom and I were having a discussion about him (and how much Anthony is, in my mom's words "a sad sack")  and I remembered the Patterson's acting totally inappropriate during his visit but I'm not sure if my mind was just assuming that's what happened.
