Snarky Candiru2

Tuesday, 1 July 2008

Well, it's Day 9 of "Lynn gives the world a one-fingered salute" as she dredges up yet another example of Elly being a brain-dead, morose, whining, shrieking, self-pitying failure of a mother who was pathetically incapable of dealing with an active five year old without totally sucking.

Panel 1: We see Mike sitting at a table happily belching with gusto after having taken a drink from his can of soda.

Panel 2: Uh-oh. Here comes Elly ready to crush his attempt to feel good. She tells him she will not tolerate that disgusting noise in her house.

Panel 3: She then takes his soda away and bellows that she doesn't want to hear him do that again. He walks away with a downcast expression on his face.

Panel 4: He then asks Lawrence how a guy is supposed to get good at something if he isn't allowed to practice.

Summary: Children are an intolerable burden and Elly should be praised for having to endure them.[/sarcasm] While I don't approve of children deliberately acting ill-mannered myself, I, unlike Lynn or Elly, realize that there are better ways to handle it. I also realize that his finding out that Elly doesn't (Chomp-Gulp-BRRRRRRAAAAAAAPPPP!!!) practice what she preaches will naturally add to his resentment of her.

ETA: Lynn's celebrating Canada Day by showing Edgar chewing on a rubber mouse. On the Fourth of July, the Maple Leaf over the 'j' becomes a star.
