Bemused Candiru

Fantasy Bubble People.....

One thing has always bothered me about all the love and affection lavished on Ol'Hunka-hunka-burnin'-lump by the twits and buffoons who think we envy Liz her dreary, unsatisfying future with him: how would they react to somebody who pulled that "I have no hooooooooome" stunt in real life? As you know, they gloss over the parts of the Lizthony scenario that might make them question things because of that off-camera bullshit Lynn encouraged them to spout but I doubt they'd afford a real-life Nostache the same latitude. What do you think?

Now that John, Elly and April are all on board the Settlepocalypse 2008 train, it would seem to follow logically that Anthony himself would be clued into things. We know he'll rubber-stamp whatever decision the Pattersons make because of his desire to ingratiate himself with them but it would be nice to see it this week in the interest of saving time.

And rubber-stamp it he did.

Panel 1: We see our 'hero' walking down a local hiking trail holding Liz's hand with Françoise running ahead a bit. He says he'd hoped to wait until next year but whatever she and the Pattersons want is fine with him.

Panel 2: She explains that it's because of her granddad's health. His response is that they can get married whatever time they like, indicating a willingness to accommodate any demand Elly might make.

Panel 3: As Francie goes back to her dad and Call-Me-Elizabeth, Liz states her preference for a simple quiet ceremony, a preference Awfulny now shares, what with being disappointed with the results of his BWW and all.

Panel 4: He then thought-bubbles that this sort of thing tends to snowball anyway by the subtle expedient of referencing an event that happened before he was born.

Summary: Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Liz: the Accidental Bridezilla.
