Panel 1: Yep, I wouldn't be surprised if the flashbacks continue until the runup to Valentine's Day, when Granthony will propose. I'm not sure "Let's go home" makes it a done deal; we know how much Lynn likes to go over the same ground again and again.

Anyway. I remember this strip. Elly looks ashamed to be called a woman.

Panel 2: I haven't seen grocery carryout in years. Does any place even still do that?

Panel 3: Well, Mike, probably because she had two kids with her! Yes, I know you don't have to be married to have kids, but it is the default assumption.

Panel 4: Now, that I really don't get. The first time I got called "ma'am," I was seventeen, and I was over the moon. I didn't think the waiter actually took me for 25, but "ma'am" definitely meant I was not a little girl any more. Who would want to go back to "young lady"? If you're doing grownup stuff like grocery shopping, driving and hauling kids around, you're not a "young lady."
