Panel 1: So we don't even get to see it. Once again, told not shown. We don't get to judge the letter on its own merits, or see the reaction he gets from Gluttson, or his co-workers. We don't see anyone challenge him, and him defending his position. And if he "can't believe it," why did he do it? Just like Liz moving home and thinking, "How strange," when it was entirely her choice.

Panel 2: So he realizes that! Did he think about that before he typed up his mission statement and submitted it? This is why you should think these things through. And talk them over with your spouse.

Okay, it's official. Last week, Greg Evans had Luann forgo crushing on her friend's long-lost brother, on the grounds that it wouldn't be fair to Bernice and nothing could happen between her and the Sgt. anyway. Thus, Evans saved his readers weeks of tearing their hair out over Luann's self-centered, hysterical idiocy. Meanwhile, this happens and Deanna is overjoyed. The comics universe has turned upside down.

I anticipate opening a second thread to deal with the traffic. I will, if it comes to that.
