Sigh...

...Okay, now that I've gotten over my initial frustration and disappointment, let's deconstruct what there is to deconstruct.

I assume the two women at the left of the frame are Mira and Iris, but I can't tell which is which. That must be Wilf, standing up. Who is the woman sitting in front of the fireplace? Who is the woman kneeling next to the coffee table, opposite Robin? Is it Liz? It can't be --- she appears to have side-ponytails. And Jim has been parked in the recliner far away from everyone else. Not that it matters, I suppose, since if he wasn't catatonic as he is now, he'd be making his inappropriate old-man remarks.

Panel 2: Well, that's how it is at that age. What matters is right now. She doesn't yet know how to register satisfaction or treasure memories; all she knows is that there's nothing left to open or to eat. Meanwhile, the framing is odd. Elly is suddenly several feet closer and between them, not like in the last panel. And the placement of the wineglasses is really strange. You don't see the stems, or the tray that they're on, so they actually look like coffee cups that are suspended in midair. And what an unflattering angle on Mike. He looks even more like a drag queen than ever.

So I guess we'll have to wait for the retcons to find out about Warren/Liz/Paul. Or maybe not; there's still NYE.
