Sunday, July 3

Not much to say, except that Liz looks like April in some shots.

And that this is a better punchline than a similiar strip had years ago. When Mike first started working at Megafood, a Sunday strip had him coming home and wailing about how overwhelming his job was: "We only got two fifteen-minute breaks!" I'd thought it was going to end with someone calling him and saying, "Let's do something," and him being immediately rejuvenated, but instead, Liz asked what was up with all that, and John replied, "He found out what it's like to earn a living." This is funnier, and not preachy. I'm impressed!

Also, I wanted to conduct a poll, and thought I'd save it for this entry. What songs, if any, were performed at your commencement ceremonies (I said I wasn't going to say gr-d again)? For my middle school, it was "Do You Know Where You're Going To?" sung by a group of 6th and 7th grade girls in honor of the graduates, and in high school, it was "In My Life" by the Beatles, sung by the select chorus, some juniors and some graduating seniors. Good choices in both cases, I thought.
