Synopsis: Now that John has finally decided that Liz's punishment for talking back to him has run its course, we see him remove the hay rake and be told that she no longer feels the need to suck her thumb to soothe herself to sleep. She then thought-bubbles about the end of a relationship.
Summary: Looking back, it probably wouldn't have made a difference if John and Elly actually bothered learning why Liz did that. People would have talked, you see. They'd have been accused of being insensitive and acluistic dolts who can't see how shoving a crib in their daughter's room would constitute an on-going problem that will probably result in Elizabeth dying resenting April for taking her childhood away.
