Panel 1: We find ourselves in the master bedroom watching Elly do something she loves: ambushing John with a loaded question about how he'd feel if she went back to work. He gives her an answer that should end things: as long as she herself is ready to return to work, it's fine by him.
Panel 2: Sadly, she is not done nailing herself to her cross yet and states that she'd feel so guilty because April is so young and she should stay with her...but on the other hand, staying home is guaranteed to drive her crazy.
Panel 3: John tries to get her to think about April and points out that the person to consider would be the baby: would she be happy with a crazy mother or a guilty one. Elly's response is to state that April would be happier with a guilty mother.
Panel 4: When she praises him for giving her the right answer (the one she'd decided on anyway), he thought-bubbles that he's forgotten the question.
Summary: The problem is that April gets a mother who pretends to be guilty but is actually crazy and stupid. We see this next Saturday when we're reminded that Elly thinks that people are going to run away from home and leave her stuck with April.
