The one where Liz reminds us that she's too damned old to be a kid saying the darnedest things.

(Original Publication Date, 24 August 1991)

Panel 1: It's a few days after the whole Exile Farm thing and we find Elly changing April's diaper. As she does so, the telephone ring.

Panel 2: It would be really handy if the Robot from Lost In Space were to show up and yell "WARNING! WARNING! MISTAKE IN PROGRESS!" because Elly is too busy putting April in the jolly jumper to answer so asks Liz if she can do it. This is because she forgets that Liz has yet to enter her decade-long awkward phase and must perforce be every kid Art Linkletter ever interviewed. Also, that's a shit-stupid shortcut that's all kinds of dangerous so Elly has no real right to call Liz stupid.

Panel 3: As Elly hangs the jolly jumper on the door with April in it to save time and also make Lynn write a chirpy, defensive Lynnsight about how unfair people are to busy mothers, she overhears Liz confirm that yes, she is at home.

Panel 4: When Liz says something a much younger and stupider child would say and tells whoever's on the live that she's busy hanging the baby, Elly freaks the Hell out.

Summary: She isn't going to be reassured when the caller successfully interprets Preschooler Joke into English, I think. Ah, well, next week, she spends entirely too long howling that her life is all used up and gone.
