Panel 1: We start things off with Liz telling Elly (who's typing a book report) Elly that she and Dawn are going somewhere named Harrison Pond and asks if they can take Farley. Elly says "I guess so." It should be noted that Liz is wearing a different outfit from yesterday which means that it's not the same day as yesterday's strip.
Panel 2: As the girls prepare to head off, Elly stands on the porch telling them if they're going to be taking the bikes they're holding up, they'll have to wait for Farley. It's a hot day and he can't run like he used to.
Panel 3: He's nine now, you see, and getting to be an old dog. Dogs age just like people do.
Panel 4: Since Elly gotta Elly, her response to Liz's super-predictable question "You mean if you shaved off his face, he'd have wrinkles" leaves her mildly baffled.
Summary: We're about to see the beginning of a minor theme: Liz being the only one who seems to notice or care how old Farley is getting.
