Panel 1: We see John putting a bonnet on April.
Panel 2: He then puts her in her stroller.
Panel 3: The strip proper begins with Mike looking gobsmacked because John expects him to take April out for a walk instead of playing baseball with the guys.
Panel 4: We get a sort of visual aid that has John explain that having a baby would make Mike a magnet for girls his age.
Panel 5: He then describes a scenario in which a whole lotta pretty girls Mike's age show up to fuss over April.
Panel 6: Mike buys into the scenario because he too pictures the same thing.
Panel 7: He walks down the street pushing the stroller with confidence and pride.
Panel 8: A while later, we find him on a park bench scowling because what he attracted are women in what Lynn thinks the fifties looks like. One of them is wearing support hose and the other mutant woman has a barking spaniel dog.
Summary: Five bucks says that Mike's take-away is that it's somehow April's fault that she repels cute girls. Also, a cursory examination of John's behaviour suggests that his problem with Martha is that Mike isn't playing the field like he 'ought' to.
