Panel 1: Martha puts her hands on Michael’s neck and he grasps her left breast? Oh, Lynn. You could have drawn that hand a little more around her back.
In any case, Martha fills the role of asking Michael a question that she should already know by the time late June came around. Nevertheless, we have a conversation for the sake of the readers. Part 1 – Michael is not going to sell hot dogs this summer.
Panel 2: Part 2 – Michael will reveal to Martha for the first time the plan that he works at his uncle’s farm for 4 weeks. It will turn out this is a plan that has been in the works for a while, so it is a testimony to Michael’s poor communication with Martha that she is just now finding this out. It’s hard to believe this is the summer when Michael turns into the best communicator ever.
Panel 3: Martha points out that this means that her summer plans with Michael are trashed. Michael tells Martha he doesn’t have to do it. Oh, Michael. You do not know how much your family wants you to be gone.
Panel 4: Meanwhile back at the ranch, Elly confirms to Uncle Dan that Michael is making the trip and then lies and says he is looking forward to it. Unlike the hot dog-selling job, working for Uncle Dan is a lot of hard labor and all indications are that Michael is working for free.
Summary: Back to dreadedcandiru2 to begin the story where Elly and John lie and pretend Michael has a chance of not going to work for Uncle Dan.
