The one where Mike listens in on Elly's phone call so Lynn can really freaking date the strip.

(Original Publication Date, 25 February 1991)

Panel 1: We find ourselves watching Mike on the extension phone complaining to Liz that he's been waiting to make a phone call but Mom is still on the phone.

Panel 2: He wonders why he and Liz get lectured about phone courtesy when she's been on the phone to Grandma for half an hour. This is because he's stupid and doesn't realize that one of Elly's greatest fears is a child with his own phone line. She fears a child being able to communicate at will more than she fears motorcycles.

Panel 3: Liz sets up the punchline by asking him if he's been keeping track of the time.

Panel 4: He gets super-sullen looking when he explains that he's been listening in.

Summary: Even though Lynn could easily afford a separate phone line for her children, she thinks of that as a luxury that is against mother love. We're about to waste three days watching her say that.
