The one where Mike acts as if he's the injrued party when he explains that he had no choice but to overreact in an unusually cruel and idiotic manner.

(Original Publication Date, 16 January 1991)

Panel 1: We find ourselves watching Mike make the "I'm the REAL victim here" posture when Elly stares daggers at him because he shoved a snowball down a howling Liz's slacks and whines "Because she stuffed snow down my back first" like that matters. Once again, Mike has made an accident into a deliberate act so he can be cruel and ask for lenience. Also, Mike has reminded us that he has never had and never will have the least idea of how to treat a lady.

Summary: He might as well have said "Because you're an incompetent and oblivious failure as a mother" because this, like so many other pointless arguments could have been prevented. We pivot away from her dropping the ball this way to Saturday's failure to function when Liz zones out at school because she doesn't feel as if her life is worth anything now.
